Pelican Point Golf Course

Ascension Veterans Memorial Park

Ascension Parish Veterans Memorial Park is a contemplative environment where we can remember and honor the contributions of all United States veterans in defense of freedom worldwide.  This park provides a distinctive setting through which our Ascension Parish veteran groups can reach out to the community through educational events and exhibits.

Crescent Park

Crescent Park, c. 1806, adjacent to the Lemann Building, Crescent Park was designed as a waterfront park to welcome river traffic on the original 1806 City plan designed by Bartholomew Lafon as the central marketplace of social activity.

The rear avenue, Houmas Street, was planned to lead to land designated for the Louisiana State Capital and the Ascension Parish Court House.

Jambalaya Park & Amphitheater

The park and playground are open to the public and the Olympic size swimming pool can be used the contacting the YMCA at (225)647-9622.  A beautiful open theater area and a gazebo are located in the park.  They can be rented out for a nominal fee together or separately.

Louisiana Square

Louisiana Square Place de la Louisiana, c 1806, designated on the original city map by Bartholomew lafon, served as a park in front of the future site of the state capitol building in 1830, and was originally utilized as a parade and training grounds for the Les Cannonairies de Donaldson, the town militia, in 1837.  An arsenal and an armory were also located there in 1840.
